Something special has been growing and developing, and we have now surpassed 800 members:

The Pastel Workshop Mentorship Community

This isn’t just another online course. It’s a place where art and purpose meet, where you can learn, create, and connect with others who share your love of pastel and your desire to grow as a maker. And I am thrilled to be building it alongside my good friend and fellow Master Pastellist, Greg Stone.

Greg brings his own deep understanding of light, texture, and storytelling to the program, and together we are shaping something that blends practical instruction with creative mentorship.

Why We Built This

Over the last few years of painting and teaching, both Greg and I have seen a pattern. Artists often have access to plenty of tutorials, but what many are missing is a place to belong. A place where learning is personal, feedback is honest, and creativity is practiced, not performed.

We created this mentorship because we wanted to help artists do more than improve their paintings. We wanted to help them build a creative life. One with rhythm and purpose. One that pushes back against the constant noise of consumption and comparison.

That is what The Pastel Workshop is all about.

What You’ll Find Inside

The community is free to join, so you can build relationships with artists on a similar journey, and find encouragement, inspiration, feedback, and more. But you will also find the option to upgrade to Premium which will give you access to:

🎨 Step-by-step lessons and demos on pastel painting, taught by both Greg and me.
🖼️ Personal feedback on your work so you can grow with direction and confidence.
🌿 A private, supportive community of artists who are learning and growing together.
💡 Resources and ideas to help you advance in exhibitions or an art career.

It is designed for anyone who wants to paint with more confidence, connect with other artists, and create work that feels authentic and alive.

More Than Just Painting

Yes, we will talk about color, value, light, and edges, all the things that make pastel painting come alive.
But the deeper goal is this: to help you create with purpose and share your work with confidence.

Both Greg and I believe we were made to create, not just consume. When we create and share what we make, even if it is imperfect, we bring a little more light into the world.

That is the heartbeat behind this mentorship. It is not about producing perfect paintings. It is about showing up to make, to learn, and to share.

Or as we like to say, it is about learning to share your dust.

Join Us

If you have been looking for a place to grow, to learn, and to make art that feels personal and grounded, this is your invitation.

You do not need to be a professional artist. You just need to have the desire to create and the willingness to show up.

The Pastel Workshop Mentorship Community is free to join, and we would love to have you.

Let’s make something real together.
Let’s share our dust.

I am interested how your community works. I am a self taught artist trying to glean as mush as possible of the medium pastels which is hard to find. What is the time this meets and day?

Hi Jane! We don’t meet live on a regular basis because that can be difficult to schedule. Instead we provide a social community where artists post their work and we can all provide encouragement and feedback. And Greg Stone and I also create and add multi-lesson courses on topics like Color Theory, Pastel Mark-Making, Underpainting Techniques, and much more. We add one new course every month, along with additional demos and resources. It’s free to get started, so come on over and join us!
